You use a squirt bottle filled with water and each time he does something you don’t want, spray towards the head and say No!
This worked so great for me. It only took a few times and now I don’t have the crazy barking that ruins a portion of my day! All I have to do is PICK UP the spray bottle and he stops instantly! This may not work on all dogs but it worked on mine. Costs you nothing but a squirt bottle.
I went through years of my dog barking incessantly throughout the day. I paid trainers, I watched hundreds of video’s about dogs and researched everywhere, all to no solution. The worse was when ANYONE tried to leave and go somewhere, it didn’t matter who it was, everyone got this, he would start barking like insane-crazy and follow the person to the door or front of the house and never stop until they were completely gone.
He drove my entire family nuts! I even went so far as to build a boarder out of wood, around the inside front door so you could at least get out of the house, because he would starting nipping your leg or would out maneuver you and get through that door.
Another bad habit was he would periodically start a deep growl which was an indicator of a nipping about to happen.
At the first sign of the growl or barking I pick up my squirt bottle, squirt him in the head, say “No!” and BOOM! No more bad behavior. He is now the sweetest most loving dog ever.
Now, I love my dog dearly, you can see in these pictures that he is pretty and very well cared for. I must say that the love he would give me when he was not barking made up for all the “I am not liking you so much today feelings”.
I heard about this solution on How to Stop Your Dog From Barking from a friend. She had been to a local shelter and when she walked in the place there were lots of dogs, all in one big room and NONE of them were barking! She asked the guy how was this possible? Never saw or heard of such a thing. He told her he has one employee that walked around the whole day with the dogs and each time one started barking he would squirt that dog in the head with a water bottle.
There was NO barking in the place! So for those of you who have this terrible problem and you are trying to figure out how to stop your dog from barking, try this. I have a new life with my dog and love him even more (and so does my family!)
